At xpand, we now support more than five international development organisations and several local initiatives in their growth and professionalisation. This often involves finding the right balance between people-oriented work and result-oriented organisation.

In the Dutch church landscape, change is constant. Especially over the past five years, we’ve seen more and more young people seeking meaning and a purposeful life, exploring the various churches. This is also true for the Catholic Church, where on one hand an aging population is noticeable, while on the other, parishes are searching for ways to become vital, welcoming, and inspiring once again.
Since 1998, the xpand team has been actively providing leadership training for pastors, pastoral workers, deacons, and core volunteers. It is a true privilege to support those who wholeheartedly dedicate themselves to caring for their parishes. Since 2020, xpand has partnered with dioceses, Alpha Netherlands, and other organizations to form an ecosystem of facilitators supporting parishes on their unique journeys.

Our team of professional trainers, coaches, and advisors — many of whom are actively involved in their own churches — offer a range of support services, including:

Specifically for the church environment, we have also developed practical scans to help individuals or teams discover their current situation. Based on these insights, we design tailored training or development plans to address the specific themes relevant to you or your group, such as:

When a parish chooses to work with us, we come together around the table to create a customized action plan. After that, a team of two suitable coaches is appointed to guide the parish over the next two to three years toward becoming a vital, welcoming, and inspiring community.
