Society needs Entrepreneurs
Regardless of whether your entrepreneurship is a personal choice, or whether your personal situation requires you to enter into entrepreneurship: we need you! This may sound exaggerated and extreme, but entrepreneurs are a key factor in the current and future society.
Due to the high speed at which technological developments take place, more traditional professions and companies will disappear in the coming years. In today’s IT world, the applicational knowledge doubles every two years. In the medical world we see this phenomenon taking place every six months. This means that today’s applications will likely have become ‘classic’ or even ‘old-fashioned’ in a few years. In the past we called upon the librarian, today we call upon our computer. Likewise, our local grocery store cashier is slowly being replaced with self-scanners. And who will need an accountant in five years time, if automated programs can do the work at almost zero cost?
The future is exciting and we have no way to predict it. We do know, however, that more and more traditional professions will disappear as a result of automation, whereas, on the other side of the spectrum, more occupations will arise in new disciplines. More people will be needed to write programs, build scanners, develop apps and maintain machines, just to name a few. It is up to entrepreneurs to create such jobs. And this is exactly where you enter the picture.

Ask yourself these questions:
- Even if self-employment is not your first choice, how can you still grow into entrepreneurship?
- How can you be a job-creating entrepreneur?
